The Folimanka Civil Protection Shelter

Back in the 1950s/1960s, nuclear fallout shelters were all the rage. The Folimanka shelter is known to be the largest undergound construction in Prague 2. Its interior of 1332 m² can hold up to 1300 persons. The shelter is maintained and is fully functional with lighting and heating.

Entry is free of charge. The tour is also suitable for kids. The entire enclosure is wheelchair accessible.

The second edition of the ArtKryt contemporary art exhibition is here! From Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11, the unique spaces of the Folimanka shelter will host works by contemporary Prague artists. The overarching theme of the exhibition is mental health, whose International Day falls on Saturday, October 10. The exhibition in the fully functional underground shelter will be complemented by a rich accompanying program.
